Heres the problem with diets. I equate them to a jail sentence. If you get sentenced to jail for a year, I would imagine all you think about is that year passing by so you can get out. You would get up in the morning saying, I only have 48 days left until I can go back to a normal life again, right!

Well thats the way people look at diets. They have a certain amount of weight they want to lose, and when the get close to their goal, if they are lucky enough, they say, wow, only seven more pounds until I can eat normal again!

Changing your lifestyle and eating habits is not as hard as you think if you truly want to do it. Dont decide to start next Monday, start today, but start slowly, so you almost dont notice the change. Start giving up or cutting down on one or two thing a week that you know are not good for you.

Start changing your meals slowly over the next few weeks. If you are a big pasta and bread eater, start replacing a couple of those meals a week with better choices, like chicken and vegetables, or soup and salad or a chef salad. Pasta and bread turn into sugar after you eat them, and contribute to quick weight gain, so they are best avoided as much as possible.

Try to stay away from pre packed foods. They are usually not a good choice. Learn to read the labels on the food you buy. You may be surprised whats in them. Look for high sugar and salt content.

Start slowly changing your snacks from unhealthy snacks to healthy snacks.
