Itâ ™s as if they want to proselytize their beliefs which is really strange since they almost universally complain about this activity from people with other beliefs.
I'll leave as soon as you show me a category where Atheism is more relevant than here.
because this is Yahoo answers. Which means we want answers to questions we have.
it is not our problem you dont' like having your faith questioned. If it is legitimate then you should have no problems answering quesitons. The reason you don't want athiests here is because you are afraid to hear the shortcommings of your religion and the holes that are poked in these creation myths it touts. religious people don't like having questions asked about thier faith because they are afraid of the answers and are afraid that someone with common sense that is not insecure (religion is a safety blanket) will state the obvious and point out the numerous inconsistencies in your beliefs and you don't like having the "faith" of what you believe in not make sense.
The funny thing about being an atheist...it just proves that there is something to be against!
Christian guy.
We're hunting.
They have a subconscious desire to be convinced that Life is Not meaningless, and there is something to Hope for.
Why do believers ask this question 20 times a day?
Why didn't you look at the "similar questions" box when you asked this?
It give me something to do when I am bored at work.
Beacuse even though they don't admit it, atheism is a religion. Evolution is a religion as well, not that I would separate the two.
Also, they know that there is a God in their spirit and their chosen faith will not let their conscience rest. Therefore they have to constantly "prove" there is no God in hopes of converting people to their faith and having peace within themselves, which never comes.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rather than glorifying Yah as God, they glorify faulty science and evolution theories and are convicted of their sins. So they fight, but never find rest for their souls. So they must always fight and take the offensive.
To express there views, but they should do so with out forcing there ideas on any one
because we feel like it and people are mis representing us so we feel like we should stick up for our selves like when christians stick up for them selves in the Religion and Spirituality category. Theres no diffrence
There is the old saying. "Misery loves company." They really want to believe in something, but they don't want to be under any set of Laws other than their own. Their desire to convince themselves can often make them combative, trying to prove others wrong in order to be convinced themselves. Congratulations, you are the 5000th idiot to ask this question today.
I must have missed the 'christians only!' sign.
Here's another hint: OPEN FORUM.
Why does this question get asked 10 times a day when you can get your answer if you bothered to use the search function?
because they are OPEN MINDED not like all those freaking believer who are SOOOOO closed minded. Whose fault? the BIBLE!
I just love to feed monkeys at the zoo, and I get this sick pleasure when they fight over a peanut.
Same thing here.
I think I'm going to write up a long answer to this sometime, save it to my computer and paste it every fraking time this question comes up. lol
I just don't feel like it right now.
The same reason you do mike
Stop using big words you don't understand.
They have a sad and boring life.
now i know that as you typed that question you saw a billion identical questions appear in the green box, yet you still posted it anyway!!NOW WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT I WONDER????????????????
Gosh, how did you come up with such an original question?
.
We wish to lead people toward the truth, so that they may be more effective and successful. Religion may give people warm and fuzzy feelings, but in the overall scheme of things it is a colossal waste of time and effort.
And bingo was his name-o
You paint a picture with too large of a brush. I'm atheist and Buddhist and I do NOT proselytize. I've studied religions in great depth and when I can answer a question about another religion, I do so w/o prejudice or sway in favor of Buddhism. Buddhists don't generally proselytize. I also hardly ever to never read (short of the jokes) anybody saying to convert to atheism, nor have I seen a movement to go door to door. A tad bit of realism is in order here...

oh, PLEASE stop! They'll just retaliate with moronic questions about Creationism. Let's just lose these idiotic questions once and for all. Anyone who really doesn't know can find the answer in the archives.
we have every right to.
Many people still have issues from parents who may have been overzealous with their religious teachings. Now I am single and enjoying the serenity of not having an annoying spouse who thinks Church is a necessary social skill. I don't hate religion just tired of the fanatics/hypocrites who are borderline sociopaths.
Ha! Freakin A, MAN!! Isn't it ironic? That cracks me up. They do. You are so right.
It just proves the point, that everyone is God conscious, whether they realise it or not.
I SOOOOO want a nickel for every time this question has been asked! I could retire by now!
The REAL question is, "If you're not a Christian, you MUST be an atheist because nothing else exists, right?" Oooh, the sarcasm...
