TORONTO -- The home of the Toronto Maple Leafs for seven decades is slated to be turned into a food and retail market.
The historic Maple Leaf Gardens arena has been sold to a division of the Loblaws grocery store chain.
They will finally make a winner out of that building.
I was hoping we would get a Home Depot at the same time http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
C'mon let's not be too hard on the MakeBeLeafs! Even I don't think they could lose to the St. Mike's Majors! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

This makes perfect sense and falls right in line with MLSE management. Sell it to Loblaws and let it become a grocery store.
God forbid they let Melnyk buy it and keep it a hockey arena for the St. Mikes Majors. He was going to renovated into a 10,000 seat venue.
However, MLSE saw this as competition for their hapless leafs. Get over yourselves!!! And people wonder how I can live in YYZ and hate the leafs so much.
Can a "Memories of a Stanley Cup" PC product be far behind???
