So my dog got neutered on Friday. first of all let me just say he's a chocolate lab (So he's REALLY hyper already) but i swear he came back more hyper. Anyways. Saturday morning I noticed a little bit of redness so i called the vet and they said to keep an eye on him so I did. He was fine. He's fine now, and we're trying to keep him calm the best we can! but my question is, He had been a bit constipated on Saturday and a bit on sunday but yesterday when he went it seemed normal. About twenty minutes after he went, he went again IN the house but it was like it just came out, he couldn't control it. and now he has the runs, BAD!! Im waiting for his vet to open, and then im going to call and make an appointment to get him in this afternoon, But until then, Im just wondering, Could it be side effects from the anaesthesia or is it to late for that? can anyone relate? advice? - pregnancy-info.net:: Title of Question: can anyone relate? advice? let me give a bit of background i guess im looking for some hope from the experiences of others http://www.pregnancy-info.net/QA/answers-can_anyone_relate_advice_/HOME | You are reporting an abuse for the comment can anyone give me some :: are reporting an abuse for the comment can anyone give me some advice, planning We appreciate your input and will resolve the issue as soon as possible. http://travel.yahoo.com/trip?reporttype=trip-comment&cid=1&pid=870393&action=abuseHOME |
You usually do get a reaction to the anaesthetic coming through in the stools, but usually this is just a slight change in colour - sometimes it's a bit looser than normal. However, I'd say it's a bit long now for this to be just the anaesthetic. It is possible, unfortunately, that he could have picked up something from the vet's, after all sick dogs go to vets (which is why I shuddered today when I met a 10? week puppy leaving the vet, WALKING OUT).
Hopefully your vet can sort out what's wrong with your pup. Meanwhile, don't give him any food. But make sure he keeps drinking.
It could be, but did you change his food at all...that often leads to diarrhea
do u know dat 1 kg of choclates = death of the dog
it is not late
dont get it any choclates and feed it vegetables
That doesn't sound like any symptom I'm familiar with as it relates to spay/neutering and I've had well over a dozen animals spayed or neutered. If it had been an allergic reaction to the anesthetic, he would have been sick from the get-go. With his being so hyper, he might have done some damage to the surgery site that has caused an infection, hence the "runs" You are wise to take him and have him checked. It is my guess however that the problem is something OTHER than relating to the neutering. How do I clean my bathroom quickly?:: Can anyone give me advice on how to clean my bathroom quickly? Were expecting some guests in a little while and the bathroom is just dirty and, over http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=549050HOME |
PS: Labs are great family dogs. Hope you have years of fun and happiness with him!
It could be delayed side affects, yes, or it could be something more simple, like eating something he shouldn't have. Also, is he up to date on all of his shots? When he got neutered, it's possible he could have picked up an infection from another dog at the vet, if he isn't up to date on Bordatella and such.
This could be a side effect from the anaesthesia.
Its good that you are calling your doctor.
Maybe it was something he ate?
Good Luck!
i would think it's too late to be a side effect from anesthesia. but i think you're right in taking him in to the vet to be checked out. it's better to be safe than sorry!
i've also just had my shih tzu spayed last week and she was given meds to help soften the poop. as for your lab, i don't think it was the anesthesia. most likely it was because he had been constipated for two days so they all came out when yesterday.
Yes, this is a result of first being constipated, then being able to let go. It will regulate itself. No need for further atten. just watch. He will be fine. This happens to humans after hospitalization also. Just keep feeding his regular diet and take him out a little more often. If you see blood in the stool, then you should worry, but I am sure it is nothing.
How much does getting a small tattoo on your hip/stomach hurt?
Do anyone else have an itchy anus? ?
