This is an legitimate, advertised deal - no use of 'questionable' coupons involved - but if you go thru the ebates.com shopping portal to purchase it, you will also get a rebate check from ebates.com. My rebate from ebates.com amounted to $13.67.
E-stamps.com is selling software (with USPS license) to print postage from your computer. Software is $47.95 but includes your first $50 of postage. They will also rebate the purchase price of either of (2) different HP printers.

I've rec'd my printer and software. After registering my software, I filled out the on-line forms to get my 'electronic vault' and USPS license (2-3 day wait), so I haven't actually printed postage yet. But I got the HP 930C and it is a nice printer.
The caveat, IMHO, to this deal is the rebate from e-stamps.com. I'm assuming (hoping) since they are approved by the USPS to sell postage printing software, that they have been checked out and have the wherewithal to make good on the rebates.

If you want to do this the way I did - and I'm not recommending it, I'm just posting the details so you can make your own decision - first go to www.ebates.com (http://www.ebates.com) Make sure your account is activated, or sign up for a new account. On their list of stores, scroll to buy.com. When at buy.com, do a search for e-stamp. If you want to get the rebate from ebates, just make sure to use your ebates email address (YourAccountName@ebates.com) when at buy.com checkout - it forwards to your regular email account.

Ordered 6/21, received Estamp software 6/23, expect printer on 6/24...I did do the order through ebates, but I haven't seen any activity in my account yet..the thing that bugged me was the confusion over coupons..I used the $20 off $100 but I bought a $24.95 CD Player because I thought that we had to pay orignal price for the software/printer..the final blow was that Buy.com sent me a $15 Gift Certificate the next day as an "apology" for their slow services during the visitalk.com promo.
Note to mac users that the stamp thing , however attractive, only works on machines running the evil empires' operating systems http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Haven't tested it for workability under VPC, but if anyone else has I'd love to hear about it.

Promo halted early! Be advised that estamp has discontinued the HP Printer rebate offer as of 6/22 (it was originally planned to end 6/30). Apparently, they got hit pretty hard and decided to take cover. BUT... I called estamp customer service and inquired, was forced to ask for someone else (with authority) and after being my normal stubborn, found that they have a secret website where you can still take advantage of a rebate. Proceed thru ebates to buy.com and purchase their software @$47.95 and the HP 930C Printer for $175 and trust estamp to follow thru on their code for rebate process that they will give you over the phone. Be certain to cover your tracks with as many names as you can when you talk to these people. It's a good deal if you need a printer, but the clock's ticking.
