How can I contact the top five real estate agents use zip-code based
marketing strategies? Any such agent must have a website address
formatted *[zipcode].com, .net, etc. Bonus points if you can identify
any agents that market to more than one zipcode. I do not want a list
of agents that have zipcode numbers on their sites, as zipcode numbers
are on every address in the US. I want the agents that extensively
tailor marketing to very specific zip code areas, in an attempt to
"build-community" around a zip-code area. Again, I need the contact
information for such agents.
Yes! And, ideally, if the primary mission of the company is real
estate, not zip-code based sales in general, that's worth bonus
points. Thank you!
Hello again.
I'd like to ask a favor. Please have a look at:
http://shop92802.com/index.php?page=real_estate
and let me know if this is the type of site you have in mind. If it
is, great. But if not, please let me know as specifically as you can
why it falls short, and what additional features would make it a
viable site for your needs.
Thanks a lot.

Hello 98008guy-ga,
I'm looking into your question, and from a preliminary search, I'm
finding that a great many real estate firms make use of zip-code based
marketing tools, and even more tightly-focused geographic information
from census tracts and census blocks. However, very few (if any!)
seem to have an exclusive focus on just a single zip code.
Can you do a few things to help clarify how to best answer your question:
1. Can you provide a link to an example of the type of site you're
interested in, so that researchers can become a bit more familiar with
what it is you're after.
2. Can you have a look at the following link:
http://www.firstteam.com/neighborhoods/neighborhoods.asp
and let us know how well or how poorly this meets your needs. First
Team is one of the top real estate firms in the country, and they have
a focus (as you can see) on neighborhoods in Southern California.
However, the site (as you can ALSO see) isn't strictly defined by zip
code.
3. And can you also look at:
http://www.92024.com/
which is a zip code based site with a real estate component, but I
don't know if it's the type of thing you're after.
I just want to get a better sense of what will and won't meet your needs.
Thanks.

I'm not looking for real estate agents or brokerages that have
websites with the ability to lookup properties based on zip-code
criteria, as virtually all real estate database search engines allow
zip-code based searching.
I'm interested in ANY zip-code based marketing approaches for a number
of products, services, and merchants (ex: www.92024.com). However,
I'm mostly interested in the marketing of real estate services
specifically. If the researcher could find a site such as
www.92024.com, but instead having a more narrow focus with compelling,
real-estate oriented information and services - that's what I'm
looking for. Such a site would probably be used to promote the
services of a real estate agent within a brokerage, though it is
possible that a brokerage would have such a focus in a large metro
area.
I neglected to include my search strategy, which consisted of:
--searches at www.whois.sc for domain names based on five-digit
numbers, or that had "zip-code" or "zipcode" in the name.
--Google search for:
wealthiest zip codes
to identify zips for further investigation as potential web sites.
Hello again, 98008guy-ga,
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm glad you liked the shop92802 site,
because there are a bunch like that, and I've listed them below.
A few general observations:
--California seems to be really big on the zip-code-based
website...you'll see a lot of them in the list below, and far fewer
from other states. Perhaps this is the influence of Beverly Hills
90210!
--No 98008.com, alas.
--Only a small number of sites appear to be very focused on real
estate, and again, these are in California. I've lumped these
together, below.
--There are many defunct sites with a zip code/real estate
focus...I've listed a few of these as well, FYI.
If anything here is not clear -- or if you need additional information
-- just let me know, and I'll be happy to assist you further.
Good luck in your ventures.

Here are some real honest-to-goodness real estate/zip code sites in California!!!!

Many (not all) of the above sites originate from a single Real Estate
company, LA Westside Homes:

You may want to put them near the top of your contact list.
==========
A company called Via5 (which seems to be a reference to the 5-digits
of the zip code) is responsible for many of the zip-code based sites
on the list, and appears to have multiple sites that may be of
interest.
Searching for localities at this Via5 site:
http://12527.via5.com/regions/index944a.html
will take you to what appears to be several hundred (maybe thousands)
of zip code based sites. For instance, clicking on:
Pennsylvania =====>
Bucks County =====>
Bedminster =======>
takes you to the 18910 site for Bedminster, PA:
http://18910.via5.com/
Some of the Via5 sites require a password to enter, like this one for 92661:
http://www.92661.com/
I'm not sure what the password-sites are all about, but you can see
the contact info for Via5 at the bottom of the 92661 site, if you want
to call them for more information.

And lastly, there?s nothing really here at these sites, but I listed
them anyway, FYI...
