That they are worth 879.50 pence does it mean each share? or 100 shares...I'd like to know what they are worth?
Shares on the UK market are listed in pence per share, so they are not written as £1.00 but 100p.
The price is always per share, and not for a grouping of shares.
The decimal point is for fractions of a penny, so 879.50 is really £8.79 and a half pence per share.
Hope that helps.
each share is worth 879.50p.
Thats a total of 88829.5p
Which is £888.29 and a half penny!
You have to subtract commission if you sell them.
But enough for a nice new sofa!
It means each share is worth 879.50 pence.
How to work out ratios?
On a lighter note, can I share the news about the stock market?
