Credit.com LLC, the publisher of personal finance network credit.com, said Wednesday it has filed a trademark infringement and unfair competition lawsuit against CreditComm Holdings in a California federal court.
Credit.com alleges that CreditComm Services LLC, a unit of Loeb Holdings, is causing it to lose money and is confusing Internet users. Credit.com said people looking for its site often end up going to CreditComm instead.

Credit.com is asking the court to force CreditComm to stop using the name Creditcomm on the Internet as well as in other media. The company is also seeking unspecified monetary damages.

The company said it has receivd numerous complaints from CreditComm customers who had failed to receive credit reports and other services already paid for.

Our site was designed to demystify and simplify the process of identifying and obtaining the best, most reputable consumer credit products and services available to consumers," said Adam Levin, Credit.com's co-founder and chief executive officer.
CreditComm officials could not be reached for comment.
