I am about to set up a Lawn Mowing and Garden Maintenance company. I
need you to help me with a GREAT business name.I don't want to copy
other local business names such as Jim's Mowing (huge Australian
franchisor) or VIP Services (same). I want to accentuate the fact that
I am the only woman (that I know of)who runs this sort of business in
Victoria (a state in Australia). Can anyone help me with this one
please?
JohnfromMelbourne: You are too kind.
Hi, Xarqi
I answered the call but it was a wrong number ...
Kindest regards

If your lawn's a moraine,
Don't sit and complain,
Improve your terrain,
Call Lorraine!
If your lawn's on the wane,
Or the weeds are a pain,
Do not go insane,
Call Lorraine!
Since Eden's a bane,
Said Abel to Cain,
Let's join the refrain,
Call Lorraine!
Thanks for all the great (no, superb!) suggestions so far. My name is
Lorraine and it's a great idea to weave it into the company logo.
Thank you all. Didn't think I would get such a great response!

"Lorraine's Lawn Lobbers"
"Lorraine Lawns and Yew" - - ( sort of like that loaf of bread, jug
of wine and you thingy) - Yews are a type of evergreen, you may know
them under a different name in Australia. If that's the case, it
blows the whole thing.
"Lawn Lackys by Lorraine"
"Lorraine Lobs 'em and Bobs 'em, Lawn and Garden Service" - - May be
shortened to "Lorraine Lobs 'em and Bobs 'em" - with the 'lawn and
garden service' added as a tag line.
Cheers

Well what about Lorna's/Lawner's Lawns or Jane's Mowing. What about "
Not Jim's
Mowing". What about "Ladies Lawns" as a play on Ladie's Lounge. What
about "Lawns by Ladies".
John From Melbourne P.S I used Jim's mowing once; it was very good
I woke up INSPIRED ... (Sorry, Journalist)
You see, Lorraine is TOO nice a name to use.
So, are you all ready for the BEST YET???
It's ........

"Didn't think I would get such a great response!"
Lorraine, we aim to please. :) And, if you ever open a souvenir
shop, consider the name Kitsch Lorraine - lol
Thanx to ProBonoMan for the honor! I have to say that I do like the
mental image that "The Green Goddess" conveys.

Then...we can get playful:

Lady Gardener

Mown, not Moan
Green Lawn at Dawn
A Woman's Place

Ah shucks, it would really help to know your name.

Queen of the Greens
You could also call yourself the First Lady of Mowing and Gardening in Victoria.
Though you would need to check whether or not this would violate any
trademark or law - - - "Victoria's REAL Secret" - Alluring
style and grooming for lawn and garden."
Hi - - By now there are so many names suggested you may be in a tizzy
as to which you will select as an answer and which researcher will be
invited to make a formal answer and collect the prize.
After all this, it may still be up to the flip of a coin.
All of your friends and supporters here are on pins and needles
wondering what your company will be called.
Good luck
Why reinvent the wheel
So much for my promises!
"Grass a la mode"
Just for the sake of breaking the 50 barrier...
"Lawn and Behold!"
Lorraine or Shine (probably too postal sounding)
Blades of Lorraine
That Darn Lawn!
Hi Lawner ~
Any chance we can weave your name into the name of your business?
Sometimes alliteration, such as "Madeline's Mowers" or "Lawns by
Laurel", or "Grace's Garden Service" can work wonders and have a touch
of 'class' (Classy Grass).
I'll post some suggestions in comments, and the others may want to as
well. This will help give you some good suggestions from which to
choose.
This could be fun!
Serenata
"Heart of Grass."
"Green Victoria."
Hey, c'mon folks, steady down!
I have already given the thumbs up to Journalist's
The Green Goddess ...
So why the continuing interest?
If this goes on much longer, it will begin to challenge ID 161982 ...
So, please, will everyone who looks at this Question, please add 10
Comments to ID 161982?
My thanks, in anticipation.
Kindest regards

I've always liked "Coup de grace".
Hi Lawner,
We always have fun with these naming challenges.
And Serenata is right, your name would be a big help.
We're all big on weaving puns from names and such.
We'll just all post our comments, below. You let us know
which Google Researcher's answer you think is worthy of
payment.
Good luck with your business. And we hope these seeds you
plant will let you grow to one of the top Victoria garden
businesses.
Best wishes

Hi Lawner! I'm chiming in, too, wondering if any of us have hit upon
a name for your business. If not, you might post a clarification to
get us thinking again! :)
"Lorraine's Wisteria Dreams"
"Lorraine's Lawn Barber and Manicure"
"Lorraine's Botanical Barbering"
"Botanical Dreams by Lorraine"
"Lorraine's Arbor Fantasies"
"Lorraine's Horticultural Heaven"
"Arbor Lights Lawn Service" - - "Landscape Care by Lorraine" - as the tag line
"Arbors and Dreams" - - "Landscape Care by Lorraine" - as the tag line
"Lorraine's Botanical Beauty"
Classy Grassy
Fauchez l'herbe
French for "mow the grass" - I always think of women when I see a
phrase in French, and I'm an Aussie guy. With the right logo or image,
it could work.
For something risque to cause some word of mouth, try
Bush Trimmers
This isn't a business name, but a slogan has occurred to me...
"Two things that can make your lawn greener: More rain and Lorraine."
and they suggested staying away from "mom and pop" type names. They
suggested finding a strong name, then they suggested taking examples
from the car manufacturers. Century, Lexus, Mercedes, Eagle,
Expedition, Excursion, etc.
I personally think if Jim's is the biggest in Victoria, what you call
it will have less to do with it as will using Jim's other business
management principles and using his business strategies.
I had an acquaintance friend that owned a Blimpie sub franchise that
went broke, he swore it was having to pay all the royalties that
caused him to go under. He said, "If I would of just been Mike's
Submarine Sandwiches I would of still been in business."
I personally think he probably played the "fat cat" routine and spent
everything as fast as it came in, expecting more to follow. Cut
corners here, cut corners there, soon your word-of-mouth marketing has
run you out of business... everyone told everyone don't go to Mike's.
Will you succeed, will you fail? Make up a plan, then work the plan.
I offer this one strictly as an effort at humor:
"Lorraine'll Bobbitt."
Did we have Miss/Ms/Mrs Mower yet?
Look no further ....... The Winner is:
The Green Goddess
Well done Journalist!
Continuing the European theme: Mown-a-Lisa
I like this: "The Lawn Salon"
Very fem and yet accurate in its description.
Or how about a nautical theme? "The Clipper Ship"
You could use a nice image of a ship as your logo and
represent yourself as the only known female captain.

Mower Mama
Mowin' Mama
Oh, don't get me started!
Serenata
.........I dont think you will beat the very creative suggestions of Xarsi,
Hmmm...
"The Mowette"?
Arrgh - I can't stop: Lawnicure; Louise Pasture; Haute verdure; The
Green Carpet; The Gardener of Eden; and finally (promise)
U-clipped-Us.
Cutting Hedge Chic
The Lawnmower Woman (blunt and to the point)
Blade Babe
Mother Nature or "Mower Nature"
Venus of Verdant.
Probonopublico:
I think question ID: 179942 is calling you.
OK - one more: Daisy Cutters.
"Garden Marvels"
"Environmental Fronts"
"Lawn Shots"
"How Green is Your Garden?"
"Lawnscapes by Lorraine"
"Lawn's By Design"
"General Green" "Generous Green" "The Green Fee" "Virgin Turf" "Turf
Paradise"(horse track in phoenix)
"Land Masters"
"In the Yard" "In the Yard with Lorraine"
"Growing Places"
"Tree, Lawns, and Gardens"
"Rosie's Posies"

"Mother Nature's Lawn Care."

WoW fifty in such a shotr time Bryan had better watch out
International Fescue? Fescue Rescue?
Branch out into landscape design and you could use "The Drawn Sward" Groan.
Or lawn mower sales: "Blades for blades"
"Lawna Doone."
Lorraine's Landscaping, too
Prim & Proper
Lady Lawntrim.
Prime Mowers.
Garden Gal.
Personally like that.
I was wondering if Mow, Lorraine and Grassy would ring a bell. ;)
"Lorraine's Barefoot Grass"
So there you go Lorraine, and that will just cost you the $20 divided
into the app 50 comments you got back so kindly arrange to send app.4
cents to each commenter..........and if you do get going and you are
in my town then you can come and cut my lawn.
Pinkfreud's slogan is terrific. Hang on to that one!
Worth a fortune. And her Lawna Doone -! What a hoot.
As to a catchy name -
Lawn Lorraine
Rainey's Rainbows
Rainey Day
Kitsch Lorraine
Lawns by Lorraine
Incidentally, I really liked xarqi
Coup de grace => Coup de Grass
and
