My vet is closed now so I will call Monday. For about 2 weeks now he has had loose stools, not normal for him regularly, and when he goes, he makes "gassy" sounds. The color has changed from normal dark brown to lite brown. Nothing has changed in his diet. He is 6 years old. Has not been outside to eat any grass. I tried tuna but it hasn't changed. He has dried food (Science Diet Sensitive stomach for previous blood in his stool which he hasn't had for a year) and canned food. Iams. Maybe it is just time to change his food? What of the many things that could be wrong could it be? THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP. Sorry if it is graphic for some! I will call the vet Monday and take in a sample!!! She tends to have loose stools from time to time and has not had any problems since on Flint .. My cat and dog are the pickiest eaters I have ever seen.

Could be many things as you know. Your best bet is to do exactly what you are going to do. He may need some meds to calm down belly. has he gotten into anything you know of? My cat does this often to and they think it is food allergies. Just make sure he is not getting dehydrated. Do this by putting finger on gums if they are sticky then he is getting dehydrated and needs fluids asap. If they are white instead of pink then needs ER vets. Good luck. may want to try bland diet of boiled rice and chicken with all fat off. More rice than chicken and see if that helps. feed small amounts several times day.
