Im lookin for a career in a legit construction company. I was just wondering if like a certificate would be good enough to achieve that?

You'll find everything you need to know.
A very vague question will get a vague answer. I will try my best, but don't know if it will help. First, by a career in a legit construction company I assume you mean a larger GC. I work for a national GC, so can give some input. I am also assuming you live in the US. If not, this may not be as helpful. It used to be that most of the managers used to come up from the field, and progress through the ranks. While this still happens, it is much less common and necessary. A certificate will help, but the best way to work your way up is a degree in construction from an accredited school. I know a couple people who started out as assistants on projects with no schooling, so that is still possible to do. But if you want to bypass years of lower level low pay work, go to school. Once you graduate, you should be able to get a job somewhere. There are so many different fields and companies, someone is always hiring. With the economy down, it is much less open than it was, but if you go to school by the time you are out things should be on the rise again. Good luck.
