    Your views............
    I really need criticisms.......

  • This should really be in "Showcase and Critiques" Forum, but nevermind...

    Overall, the site isn't too bad. It is a bit drab and uninteresting, but it seems to be an attorneys website so I guess that kind of fits. However, I would still introduce / change some of the colours. The whole site is very grey intensive, so pick just a couple of fairly bright colours to use as highlights, maybe for menu items, or links etc.
    You should center the flash file in the middle of the browser window.
    The menu on the left is kind of fun, but again, a little dull colour wise and also not particularly intuitive. It was just by chance that I happened to rollOver one of the images and saw that it was in fact a link. Try and think of a way to make this a little more lively (perhaps fade the colour up for each pic when rolled over), and also make it a little more obvious that they are in fact links.

    I'm not quite sure about the female in the bottom right corner. It seems to become the main focus of the site because it is the only graphic that is in true colour, yet it doesn't really tell me anything about the site or the services being offered. In fact, the whole site makes it a little unclear as to what it is actually all about. Try and make the company name/tagline stand out more, and get a bit more creative with it. There's a lot of space in that black header, you could do a lot more. Also think about changing/adding to/removing the blonde girl. Or perhaps just don't have her on every page.
    I'd remove all the commented out text from your HTML. It's not really helping anyone and it's only going to increase loading time and possibly score you a search engine penalisation.
    You have your language specified as simplified chinese, yet it seems to be a very english lanugage site.
    Give your page a proper title.Keep it up :D

  • Just a question, How do you make this flash fill the browser?

    I've been wanting to do this for a while now.. Can anyone tell me?

  • Obviously, I am not a genius on color and banner design (maybe more...). I made improvements on the left menu, color, top navigation, the title of page and get rid of some useless code.

    I need more criticisms.... thx for support

  • duncanhall & vishalraj9 pretty much nailed it. The rounded squares behind the top nav button are too jagged on the corners. Smooth them or make square. have the girl fade out after the initial load, also, she is rough also. Try saving her as a .PNG and import to Flash. I'll bet it's a .GIF.

    Good luck.

  • Hey figo2476,

    Why are menu and the text "Bergan Doube..." same size? What do you think of putting a top header with a business logo and the text "Bergan Doube...", and the menu over it with a smaller font?

    And the girl right picture, well, I guess you need try a little harder on Photoshop to extract the background and use some anti alias on it.

    Good Luck.

    Kinow =)

    I believe you could try some different typo, you use only sans-s

  • Today:

    * I have updated the website. http://mr.gary.liang.googlepages.com/index.html
    * I found that I didn't know how to use photoshop at all. :(
    * Scrollbar will be added later.
    * More criticisms....

  • Hi,
    Ok.Here are some critics.
    1)When you visit the website for a first time,and when you are navigating through the different links,the content goes blank & we could see the grey background. I have cable connection and it takes about 2-4 seconds to load the info amidst changing the links.But think about the users who are on a dial-up.It would take them,i guess, at least 10-15 sec before they actually get to see your content.Fix this by providing preloaders which would at least show "Loading...." or something simple of that kind & even keep your file size decent.
    2)What's up with the font.It's all in Flash.That's why even if someone tries to increase the font size,it wont work.I have noticed that you made the flash file fit perfectly in the window without any horizontal or vertical scrollbars.But hey, you don't really want anyone to quit browsing your website just because they can't really read it because of small font,would you? So,fix the font size.
    3)Show that the images are clickable on the left.They just appear to be static images.Fix that too.
    That's it for now.Bye.
