I need to find a presentation made at the International Conference of
Emerging Infectious Diseases in Atlanta, GA July 16-19 2000. It is
called "Risk Factors for Sporadic Campylobacter Infections in the
United States: A Case-Control Study on FoodNet Sites." The authors
are: C Friedman, S Reddy, M Samual, R Marcus, J Bender, S Desai, B
Shiferaw, D Helfrick, M Carter, B Anderson, M Hoekstra, and the EIP
Working Group.
I can find the synopsis which is < 2 pages having the sections:
Backround, Methods, Results, Conclusions. I have this. What I need is
the paper or presentation this describes. It is probably in the +/- 50
page size.
One slide is visible at:
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/OPPDE/animalprod/Presentations/KFPDF%20Aug%2001/sld006.htm
I shall let you know if the rest can be found.
What additional information do you require? This side looks OK. But is the date code 20 Aug 2001? The presentation
should have a July 2000 code.
Hi,
I sent out an e-mail to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention
inquiring about the presentation. As soon as I receive a reply from
them, I will get back to you.
Thanks,

You might want to check this pdf document. There seems to be quite a
bit of methodology and background here:

Hi crw,
I contacted one of the paper's co-authors yesterday, Dr. Beletshachew
Shiferaw and inquired about obtaining a copy of the paper. His email
response to me stated "The manuscript is in the process of being sent
to a journal for publication, and is not yet published." Only the
abstract is available currently.
Dr. Shiferaw is with the Office of Disease Prevention and Epidemiology
in the Oregon Department of Human Services. Should you wish to
contact him, you can find his listing on the Oregon Department of
Agriculture's, Food Safty Staff page:
http://www.oda.state.or.us/fsd/everything_pages/people.html
Perhaps the CDC published a copy of presentation paper as part of the
conference proceedings. If so, Bobbie7-ga may be on the right track.
Good luck,

The poster and abstract were not accomnpanied by a presentation. The
presentations, panel summaries, and all other original contributions
from this conference are all available at:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol7no3_supp/contents.htm.
I expect to have the full report. Only the abstract is available at
this time. I am prepared to provide it to you as soon as possible,
which could be weeks or months.
The information I noted below comes from one of the authors who
promised to send me a copy of the paper. You might consider reposting
the question some time in the near future when the report is
available.
