Why there is poverty in the world?
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.
We are surprised to note that poverty is in existence in all the countries. In some countries it is on higher side and in some countries the number of poor people is not on higher side. But there are poor people in all the countries. The wise people had been giving us information as to why people are poor and in some countries the people have said that poor people are those for whom God Himself had written bad luck. They say that man is just a tool in hand of God and if He wants He can convert the man a rich man and if He does not like a man, He keeps the man a poor person. And it has also been said that the people who are rich are those who are powerful and they snatch away the share of others and thus the people who could not protect their share had been turning poor people and once a family turns poor, then so many generations shall remain poor and once a family turns rich, then their so many generations shall remain rich because here on this earth the people who are having money, their money starts adding more and more money and the people who have got no money with them, they are not in a position to add more money. Money makes the mare go and that is the reason everything is salable and the people who have got no money they would not be able to give to their children proper education, proper training and that is the reason such people would not be attaining proper positions in life and that is the reason their earning capacity shall also remain on lower side. These people would not be able to bring up their children properly and they would also not be able to give them proper education, training and then proper adjustment in life. Thus once a set of parents turn poor, they shall be breeding poverty and that poverty shall continue for generations.
We have seen that the rich rule the world. In all the countries where we have already abolished rajas, maharajas, monarchs and the imperialists, but still the people who are standing in elections are rich people because poor people are not in a position to bear expenditure of elections and therefore, the poor people would just attain the status of voters and they would never be able to come on top and rule the nation. Therefore, they shall live like slaves because the people who shall be coming up on government chairs shall not be doing anything for the poor people. If we examine the case of people of India, we shall see that the situations and conditions of poor people could not rise because the people who are in the chairs are working for those who had been giving them money and the people who had been giving them votes and votes only they do not work for them and they give them attractive slogans and get their votes and once votes are taken from them, then they are pushed back to suffer for another term of five years or more. And if we go deep, people in all the countries are just voters. Who are the people who are standing in elections and who are the people for whom they work, we all know, but we are not in a position to ask them that they should work for those who had been giving them votes and had been installing them on the seats of power.. Fun with World Bank numbers - How the World Works - Salon.com:: Well, that depends on how you define poverty. The World Bank says extreme poverty is And then, of course, there's oodles of disagreement as to how that http://www.salon.com/tech/htww/2006/07/07/world_poverty/HOME | ZNet Commentary: Mystery: How Wealth Creates Poverty in the World:: Sep 28, 2006 Mystery: How Wealth Creates Poverty in the World. So poverty is relative term and we should judge poverty in all the countries on the basis of relatively. But the present system would not write off poverty from the world and one set of people shall remain rich and they shall produce rich and one set of people shall remain poor and they shall produce poor. The state is also favouring rich people and therefore, we should not wait for a day when all shall be rich. As far as nature is concerned, it has given us everything which could turn us rich. There are mountains, rivers, jungles, minerals, gas, petroleum, coal, different seasons, fertile land, hardworking people and all these basis can turn the whole world into a golden sparrow, but the rich do not want that all should be equal. If there are no poor people, then the rich shall not be able to enjoy life. They would not get people who shall carry on manual work. The rich people want a big number of people who could serve them and on whom they can rule. Therefore, they create such situations in which the people remain divided into rich and poor and they make it sure that the poor should never be equal to the rich and they are successful in keeping the poor as poor. Even the state is helping them because the states also want that poor people should be there to carry on manual and menial work.
