During the final episode for the VH1 reality television series Rock of Love, romantic hopeful Heather was often seemingly portrayed in a bad light. In the final moments when she said that she was fully willing to share Bret Michaels with Jes, it only served to make her appear desperate and even more unlikable towards fans. Heather has insisted that the shows editing only made her answer appear that way, and that it was not the entire message she conveyed at all. In a previous Buddy TV poll on the subject, roughly half of the respondents believed that she wanted to share Bret, while the other half were willing to think that it was the fault of editing.

Speculation on the matter has been laid to rest by none other than Heathers closest competitor on the series, Jes herself. In a statement she made on her MySpace blog, Jes concurred with Heathers account of what had taken place. She wrote that during the final episode, when Michaels had asked if he could have both of the women together, both she and Jes clearly refused the offer. It was only editing which made it seem as if Heather was willing to the idea of a ménage a trois.
Jes has further described Heather as being kickass, hilarious, and having a great heart. Jes also explained that even though shes been criticized for telling Bret that he should have picked Heather instead, she stands by what she has said, as unpopular as it may be. She pointed out that Bret himself was honest about how unwilling he was to pick Heather, mainly because she wanted the real thing, and that Bret wasnt ready for it. Her comments are unlikely to endear Jes any more to Bret, despite emerging the winner in the television competition.
