One of Guiding Lights most popular figures, Kim Zimmer, will be participating in a book signing event for Guiding Light: Jonathans Story on Saturday, October 20 at 2pm at the Borders Books and Music Store, located at 80 Wayne Town Center in Wayne, New Jersey.
Previous reports have already revealed that Guiding Light: Jonathans Story, which was released last month, is the brainchild of the Emmy-nominated soaps writer, David Kreizman. The book features the character Jonathan Randall in the middle of an intense, passionate, and adventure-packed love story whose details are not revealed on the show. It also features his beloved Tammy Winslow, arch-enemy Alan Spaulding, and his mother Reva Shayne, who is played on screen by Zimmer.
Formerly, Kim Zimmer briefly played Reva Shayne, the daughter of Hawk and his late wife, Sarah ONeal Shayne back in 1983. However, she left the soap to become the face of Jodie De Witt Walker on Santa Barbara from 1992 to 1993. In 1995, the actress returned to Guiding Light and has filled in for Reva Shayne since then. Her character and Josh Lewis, played by Robert Newman, eventually became a very popular duo, and later developed into a supercouple, becoming one of the cornerstones of the soap opera.

Aside from being his mother, Jonathans mother, Reva, was included in the plot of the book because she was the only one who knew he was still alive. Jonathan had faked his death after Tammy was killed after stepping in front of a speeding car to save him from a hit man. He later took his daughter, Sarah to a faraway place to run away from the scheming Alan Spaulding. Jonathan eventually stops running and starts over with a new life for him, establishing a home for his daughter. With a new identity and a whole new life ahead of him, it is most likely that he will have enough room for a new woman in his life, aside from the adventures he has yet to face.
