St Croix is emerging as the new hot spot to visit in the Caribbean for quite a number of reasons. The two main towns on the island are Christiansted and Frederiksted and walking their streets are like stepping back in time to the 1700s and the 1800s, with a non stop feast for the eyes. For hikers, there is the “Heritage Trail” that winds you through the entire 28 miles of the island, with stops at various notable points of interest.
Of course the diving is superb, with excellent visibility in the crystal clear, blue Caribbean water that surrounds St. Croix. There is a ferry that can take you to the Buck Island Reef Monument where you can take in the best diving and snorkeling to be found anywhere.
